Since starting out with a series of mixtapes a few years back, Thabiso Malefane aka Morale, born and raised in Soweto Johannesburg, has become a major player in the local rap and hip hop scene. He won mixtape of the year on Hype Magazine, South Africa’s leading hip hop magazine in 2007 for “Rising Son” mixtape. Since then, his sound became prominent on radio with songs like “Promise”, “Aint No Thing”, “Till Da Angels Sing”, “No Lie” and “I Am” climbing the charts of different stations. Morale has shared stages with HHP, Naeto C, Slum Village, Jozi, Maino, Keith Murray, Teargas, Mandoza and TKZee the list continues. His great work through features also makes Morale an all rounded artist.
Morale’s first single “Ayaamah” from his first official album titled “Smile, Clap and Bow” is causing major waves in the South African music scene. The song features the legendary kwaito star Zola and takes you through a journey filled with intense emotions as he shows his deepest compassion to one of his biggest fans who was in a coma. Morale’s second and latest HUGE Hit single titled “Call My Number” is burning the charts on different radio stations nationally. For Example, the single has broken a record for being the Most Played Song on the YFM top 40 chart with more than 15 weeks. This anthem can be described as the new school hip hop laced with killer beats and a pleasant tune that will keep all hip hop and music lovers on the dance floor and singing along.
